Samsung has locked in a release schedule for its One UI 9 software, creating a defined window for owners of 40 specific Galaxy smartphones and tablets in Japan. The update, built on Android 17, will arrive across October and November 2026. This timeline provides a concrete endpoint for a rollout that began in September with the latest flagship series.
The company published the list of eligible hardware through its Japan division. While the dates apply strictly to that market, the set of devices is expected to serve as the global standard for the update cycle. The roster spans high-end flagships, foldable displays, and mid-range handsets. It also includes a wide range of tablets, extending the software refresh to devices released several years ago.
The flagship phone segment leads the list. It includes the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra models. The update extends to the previous two generations, covering the Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra, as well as the Galaxy S24, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, S23, and S23 Ultra. Foldable devices on the schedule include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5.
Mid-range options are also confirmed for the upgrade. The list names the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25. The tablet lineup is extensive. It covers the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, the Tab S10, S10+, S10 Ultra, S10 FE, S10 FE+, and S10 Lite. Older models on the list include the Tab S9, S9+, S9 Ultra, S9 FE, and S9 FE+. The roster concludes with the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G, and Tab Active 5 Pro.
The provided list is not exhaustive. It omits certain "Plus" variants of recent flagship phones and numerous Galaxy A series models. Devices sold exclusively in other regions are also absent from this specific publication. Samsung indicated that the global rollout will continue beyond the Japanese window. Entry-level devices may not receive the update until December or January.
The software debuted in September on the Galaxy S26 series. It has since expanded to a portion of the previous generation. The new schedule clarifies the remaining steps for the current hardware cycle. Owners of the 40 listed devices can expect the installation to begin in the current month and conclude by the end of the next.
