Unofficial results released on Tuesday, November 4, 2026, show that Alachua County voters approved a new city charter for Gainesville. The measure passed with a majority of votes cast in the general election.
Local races also produced winners. Dewayne Baines, who ran as a candidate with no party affiliation, secured the seat on the Alachua County Commission for District 4 against Democratic Party candidate Ken Cornell. In the nonpartisan race for Alachua County School Board District 1, Hunter Miller and Janine Plavac, both running as candidates with no party affiliation, won their respective positions.
The City of Archer approved four separate charter amendments. All four measures, labeled Amendment 1 through Amendment 4, received enough votes to pass. In High Springs, Andrew Miller won the commissioner seat for Seat 1, while Ross Ambrose won the commissioner seat for Seat 2.
Statewide races in districts that include Alachua County are closer. In State Senate District 6, Republican incumbent Jennifer Bradley faces Democrat Jason Bellamy-Fults and American Solid Party candidate Joseph Thornton. The results for this race are not yet final.
In State Representative District 10, Republican Marshall Rawson is competing against Democrat Merrillee Malwitz Jipson. In State Representative District 22, Democrat Amy Trask currently leads Republican incumbent Chad Johnson by 2,089 votes. The margin in this race is the most specific number provided in the unofficial count so far.
For the U.S. House District 3 seat, Republican incumbent Kat Cammack is running against Democrat Seth Harp and no-party-affiliation candidate Mike Klein. The election office has not yet declared a winner for this federal race.
