The next generation Tesla Roadster is on public display in the lobby of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The vehicle is available for viewing from October 24 to 27. Sawyer Merritt said this marks the first time the general public can see the car up close.

Tesla released a 34 second video on X on Friday afternoon showing the vehicle's interior software. The clip describes the interface as inspired by fighter jet cockpits. The main screen features a 3D wireframe model of the car next to a squared off yoke. Tapping the model opens controls for the rear wing, including low drag and high downforce settings.

The demo highlights Track Mode, which shows a live circuit map and session lap times. The screen displays real time data for brake and motor temperatures. It also provides specific pressure and temperature readouts for each tire. The setup page allows drivers to adjust aero balance and brake balance, or switch off stability and traction control.

A status bar at the bottom of the screen displays Thruster 5,500 PSI alongside a Boost Ready indicator. This software feature links to the cold gas thrusters hardware Tesla showcased near Waco, Texas on October 15. The Thrust and Rocket versions use carbon overwrapped pressure vessels to house these systems.

Previous technical breakdowns state the Thrust and Rocket models achieve 0 to 60 mph times of under 0.9 seconds and under 0.59 seconds, respectively. The base Performance model uses a fan and ground sealing system for grip. The aero settings on the screen align with the active wings and suction setup previously detailed in analyses of the car's downforce generation.

Elon Musk stated at a recent event that production is scheduled to start in 2028. Tesla noted the Rocket version is not yet approved for public road use. Reservations are open with a $50,000 payment. The Thrust model is a limited release, while the Rocket version is invite only. The company has not clarified if Track Mode telemetry will appear in other models like the Model 3 Performance.
