Quince sells lab-grown diamond engagement rings priced between $900 and $5,000. The company uses a factory-direct model that removes supply-chain middlemen to keep costs low. This approach allows the retailer to offer jewelry at lower price points than traditional brick-and-mortar stores.
Kylie Bee, the Merchandise Lead of Fine Jewelry at Quince, stated that all engagement rings can be returned or exchanged within 60 days. The retailer also provides a limited lifetime warranty. Bee noted that the company aims to give everyone access to nice things by reducing costs through its direct manufacturing relationships.
Online shopping for engagement rings has become common as couples get engaged throughout the year. Travis Kelce proposed to Taylor Swift in the summer, while Tom Holland and Zendaya got engaged in the winter. These examples show that engagement timing no longer follows the traditional Valentine's Day pattern.
Shoppers often face challenges when buying rings online. Bee advised customers to measure ring sizes using inexpensive sizer tools or by tracing a ring the partner already wears. She recommended selecting styles that can be resized up or down by a full or half size. Bee also suggested consulting trusted friends and family to identify the partner's preferred diamond shape, carat weight, and metal color.
Other retailers offer different approaches to engagement rings. Blue Nile provides the widest selection online with ethically sourced diamonds and a lifetime warranty. Angara focuses on made-to-order gemstone rings that range from a few hundred dollars to over $100,000. Plum Diamonds is a women-owned business that sells only lab-grown diamonds and offers free resizing for life.
Jean Dousset features the Claire Collection, which uses thinnest prongs to make center stones appear to float. The brand is led by the great-great-grandson of Louis Cartier. Mejuri handcrafts rings from solid gold and sterling silver, avoiding brass or steel. Catbird creates rings in its Williamsburg, Brooklyn studio using 100 percent recycled solid 14k gold or platinum.
Vrai uses zero-emission river energy to crystallize greenhouse gas into lab-grown diamonds in an American foundry. MiaDonna offers premium lab-grown diamonds with complimentary engraving and 90-day complimentary ring resizing. Kinn Studio focuses on chunkier gold styles and intentional design. These options provide buyers with various styles, budgets, and sustainability features.
