Quarterback Nick Foles said he does not see a clear path to fixing the Philadelphia Eagles after the team's fifth consecutive loss on Monday night. Foles, who led the team to a Super Bowl title, spoke about the state of the locker room on his podcast, The SZN with Nick Foles & Evan Moore. He said he does not know if the players currently on the roster can turn the season around.
Foles said his concerns grew when Jeff Stoutland left the organization. He criticized the offensive line's performance, noting that players were not helping their teammates up after plays. "There's dysfunction in Philly… You can feel it. You can see it," Foles said. He added that he does not know what is causing the changes he observes in the team's culture.
Head coach Nick Sirianni addressed Foles' comments during his weekly morning phone interview on 94.1 WIP. Sirianni said he focuses on what happens inside the building and does not get wrapped up in outside reports. He stated that looking for answers like that is natural when a team drops five games in a row.
The Eagles have not had a win since the middle of the month. The team lost to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night in a game broadcast on Monday Night Football. Injuries have continued to mount for Philadelphia, affecting key players on the roster.
Following the loss to Carolina two weeks ago, Jordan Mailata spoke to reporters in the locker room. After the latest defeat, Saquon Barkley addressed the team. Jordan Davis answered questions after Monday night's game.
Brandon Graham, who visits the team facility once or twice a week, said he does not share Foles' assessment of the situation. Graham said he sees players working out together and working hard when he is in the building. He stated he can understand what Foles is talking about when looking from the outside in.
Sirianni's weekly interview on 94.1 WIP is scheduled for Monday morning. The Eagles will play their next game following that appearance.
