The Brandon Lions Club is offering luminaria kits for $9 each to mark the 24th iteration of its annual Christmas Eve light display. The organization, chartered in 1954, relies on this sale to fund its charitable operations across the state and nation.

Each kit contains 15 white paper bags, 15 long-burning votive candles, 15 candle cups, and a bag of sand to stabilize the candles. Residents use these materials to line walkways and driveways with white light. The club has run this project since 2002, maintaining a consistent structure for the holiday tradition.

Residents, neighborhoods, and community groups may place orders by Sunday, November 15. No payment is due at the time of ordering. All transactions are cash on delivery. The club picks up orders at 610 Limona Rd. in Brandon. For orders of 15 kits or more, the club provides delivery to participating neighborhoods on Saturday, December 19.

To place an order, individuals can contact Joe Kuebler at 813-263-2522 or send an email to brandonlionsclub@gmail.com. The club meets at its clubhouse on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Dinner starts at 6:15 p.m., and the meeting follows at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the sales go to Brandon Lions Charities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The organization supports eyesight and hearing programs at state and national levels. Locally, the group funds Dogs Inc., ECHO, Family Promise, the Brandon High School Don Bishop Track Meet, Selah Freedom Inc., and other community needs.

Lions Clubs traditionally focus on sight conservation and assisting those with vision loss. The Brandon chapter extends that mission to a wider range of community programs. The luminaria project serves as a primary fundraising mechanism for these local initiatives.

The next scheduled meeting for the Brandon Lions Club is on the first Thursday of the current month. The club invites the public to attend or contact the organization for membership information and project details.
